Born in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, 1930.

Education:

  • Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt (License en Droit, 1952).

  • New York University, Graduate Studies in Law. New York (L.L.M.)

  • Harvard University ,School of Law Cambridge Massachusetts (L.L.M.)1956.


Experience:

  • 1957 Formerly, Advisor of the Saudi Council of Ministers,

  • 1960 Cabinet Member as Minister of State.

  • 1962-1986  Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

  • First Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting
      Countries (OPEC). 

  • Regarded as the Architect of many of the Kingdom’s modern laws and regulations.

  • Founder and Chairman of the Center for Global Energy Studies &   Founder and Chairman  of Al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation.
